Have We Really Lost Focus? brainwash 2.0

Music, brands, designer wear...a new form of shirk or biddah? If not then has the new wave of brainwashing via social media made one lose complete focus on what's important? Have goals now become getting a brand wear instead of making actual achievements? As Muslims have we forgotten the dangers of deviating from actual goals to now loving like puppets of marriage and class gratification? We have really lost focus or maybe the ability to think.
