Have you Ever Looked at a $20.00 Bill and Said "That's Not Worth Anything"?

from Your Amazing Life! · host Ken Gerber

We don’t do it with bills but we do often look at ourselves and see the crumbled wrinkled life and say “I'm not worth anything.” Why do you and I “decrease our value.” As an Example, I found it happening when others mistreated or bullied me in the past. There are others that think about people that they have lost and put those that died on a pedestal. They think that their friend or loved one had more reason to live than they do. But when we look at our life that way we reduce the price that they paid for our lives. They were willing and happy to pay with their lives to protect us. Why would we reduce the price they paid for us? Instead we should make our life more valuable to make the price they paid mean as much as it can. The price was paid and refunds are not allowed or processed. Our worth or value will not change but we can change the value that we provide to the world. As we increase the value we provide we make the price that was paid offer more value. As we give more of our value to this world the greater we celebrate those who have sacrificed for us. You are of infinite worth! That cannot be changed. There is nothing not race, color, gender, bad decisions, nor traumatic events that can change your worth! Your value will not change no matter what you believe your value to be. You can think of your worth as a penny or as a billion dollars. Neither thought will change your value. The only thing that can change is your perception of the value, but not your value itself. To change the perception of your value, here is a tool: Pause for a moment and notice the flow of your breath. Pay attention to it going in and out. Ask yourself how you can generate a moment of kindness and hope towards yourself today Do It! As Nike says Repeat daily for 14 days. If you’re interested in learning more about your top character strengths, I'm including a link to a free survey by VIA institute on Character at www.viacharacter.org. It's an evidence-based survey that has been taken by over 5 million people throughout the world (Niemiec, 2018; Peterson & Seligman, 2004). I took the survey and my signature strengths are Kindness (good deeds), Love, (relationships with others) Humor, (Bringing smiles to others) fairness,(being unbiased, providing a chance for all) and forgiveness (accepting others and giving second chances).
