In Luke 14:26, 27, 33, Jesus listed three things he requires. 1. We must hate all others—hate is defined in Genesis 29:30-31 as, loving others less than we love Jesus, 2. We must bear our own cross of self-denial, described in Mark 8:34-38 as laying down our self-determination and taking up his will for our lives, 3. We must be willing to renounce all that we have, defined in Luke 5:4-11 as leaving all this world has to offer to follow Jesus. These may seem hard to do, but Jesus said if we can’t do these things, we’re not worthy to be his disciples. Have you had a come to Jesus meeting?
