Having a child before one gets married tends to be a death sentence on the parents (usually the mother) within church circles. She is no longer viewed the same. Her prospects for a future spouse diminish. And then there are comments from church members who should know better. This goes in the face of the gospel that preaches and promises renewal and restoration but how is this renewal and restoration to play out?
