Having Faith in Creativity w/ Brooke McNamara

from Sacred Remembering · host Sarah Poet

Brooke McNamara, MFA, is a poet, dance-theater artist, Zen dharma holder, and teacher. In this conversation, full of wisdom and inspiration, we traverse how to tap into the depth of our experiences as women, whatever the quality of those experiences might be. Brooke works, plays, lives, & creates at the intersection of spiritual practice, robust & intimate community, & creative aliveness. Her first book of poetry came after the birth of her own son when she heard the definitive instruction to begin writing poems about the experience of motherhood & now offers a course called “Write to the heart of motherhood.” In this conversation, we talk about hearing the voice of creativity, what can be found in community spaces in these difficult times, and how to have faith in creativity and the world we can now create.
