Hawk Fire Threatens Reno | US News

A massive wildfire known as the Hawk Fire is raging just five miles northwest of Reno, Nevada, forcing over 40,000 people to evacuate and threatening thousands more. Already burning more than 15,000 acres, the fire has destroyed at least 32 homes and injured seven people—including first responders. Officials suspect human-caused origins but haven’t determined if it was intentional or accidental. With winds pushing flames toward neighborhoods and international firefighters joining the effort, authorities are urging everyone under evacuation orders to leave immediately—no lives lost yet, but the danger is real and growing.
