Justo la historia que les contare se trata de la 2da. edición UP HILL bicikar en la Victoria, estado Aragua - Venezuela. Una competencia que desafía las condiciones físicas de cualquier atleta, ya que se trata de recorrer en el menor tiempo posible 20 kilómetros con ascensos que se estiman en 2000 msnm, representando una de las rutas de montana mas exigente de la región. This post responds to the initiative of the sports community @fulldeportes called: Sports Feat 2025. The story I am about to tell you is about the 2nd edition of UP HILL bicikar in La Victoria, Aragua state, Venezuela. This competition challenges the physical condition of any athlete, as it involves covering 20 kilometers in the shortest time possible with ascents estimated at 2000 meters above sea level, representing one of the most demanding mountain routes in the region. En esta oportunidad, tres de nuestros compañeros: Andreina, Yorman y Greisis asumieron este desafiante reto para escalar la empinada y compleja carretera que va desde la Victoria y lleva al pueblo de la Colonia Tovar, pero la llegada era hasta la gruta. Para que tengan una idea, estimados lectores, los vehículos ameritan utilizar la primera velocidad para el ascenso e igualmente en el descenso, con curvas cerradas que estresan al conductor mas experimentado. On this occasion, three of our colleagues: Andreina, Yorman, and Greisis took on this challenging task of climbing the steep and complex road that goes from La Victoria to the town of Colonia Tovar, but the destination was the grotto. To give you an idea, dear readers, vehicles need to use first gear for the ascent and descent, with sharp curves that stress even the most experienced driver. Poniendo en contexto nuestra participación, a medida que ha pasado el tiempo y las exigencias personales, laborales, familiares, hemos disminuido los entrenamientos. La dinámica nos ha llevado a replantear permanentemente el objetivo de estar unidos; no solo por el ciclismo, sino también por el compartir relaciones sólidas de apoyo, solidaridad, compañerismo y sobretodo de profunda amistad. Putting our participation into context, as time has passed and personal, work, and family demands have increased, we have reduced our training. The dynamics have led us to constantly rethink the goal of being united; not only for cycling, but also for sharing solid relationships of support, solidarity, camaraderie, and above all, deep friendship. Ha sido lento el proceso para lograr la consolidación del equipo como tal, pero el ímpetu y las condiciones física de estos compañeros les permite entrenar y participar en competencias. Si vemos la diferencia mas resaltante de ser grupo o equipo, en el primero las personas se reúnen por una razón con metas independientes y en el segundo los miembros están unidos por una misión específica con mutuo apoyo. The process of consolidating the team as such has been slow, but the momentum and physical condition of these teammates allows them to train and participate in competitions. If we look at the most striking difference between being a group or a team, in the former, people come together for a reason with independent goals, and in the latter, members are united by a specific mission with mutual support. Este día nuestro equipo ameritaba nuestra presencia. Días atrás hicimos la planificación en la cual Dari, Yvonne, Claudia y mi persona nos encargamos de la logística para acompañarlos llevando hidratacion y comida, asi como la pancarta que nos identifica junto a la alegría que nos caracteriza y el regalo del paisaje, el cual es uno de los mas hermoso de la región (ver video). On this day, our team deserved our presence. Days ago, we made plans in which Dari, Yvonne, Claudia, and I took care of the logistics to accompany them, bringing hydration and food, as well as the banner that identifies us, along with the joy that characterizes us and the gift of the landscape, which is one of the most beautiful in the region (see video). Llegamos al sitio donde era el inicio de la competencia, esperamos que llegaran Andreina y Yorman, les ayudamos a colocar el número correspondiente a cada bicicleta mientras ellos se colocaban los zapatos y ultimaban los detalles. Desde allí, nos fuimos adelante porque cierran la vía. Esperamos un rato cuando vimos el arribo de los primeros ciclista en bicicleta de ruta, la emoción nos embargaba cuando llegó Yorman en cuarto lugar. Luego llegaron dos chicas igualmente en bicicletas de ruta y en el tercer puesto Andreina en bicicleta MTB, al poco tiempo llegó Greisis. We arrived at the starting point of the competition and waited for Andreina and Yorman to arrive. We helped them attach the numbers to their bikes while they put on their shoes and finalized the details. From there, we moved ahead because the road was closing. We waited for a while until we saw the first road cyclists arrive. We were overcome with excitement when Yorman came in fourth. Then two girls arrived, also on road bikes, and in third place was Andreina on a mountain bike. Shortly after, Greisis arrived. Les colocaron sus merecidas medallas de participación y después de hidratarse y comer, bajamos a la Mislera en pie de cerro, un sitio muy bonito donde también nos aguardaba una exquisito sancocho (sopa elaborada con carnes y verduras propias de la región). Compartimos un buen rato con los ciclistas amigos mientras esperamos la entrega de los premios. They were awarded their well-deserved participation medals, and after hydrating and eating, we went down to Mislera at the foot of the hill, a very beautiful place where a delicious sancocho (a soup made with meat and vegetables typical of the region) awaited us. We had a great time with our cyclist friends while we waited for the awards ceremony. La alegría nos embargaba por el triunfo de nuestros compañeros. Al terminar la premiacion, fuimos a almorzar a un restaurant turístico y celebrar con ellos esta hazaña. De regreso a nuestra ciudad por la autopista, nos acompañó un hermoso atardecer. Una vez mas, a través de este deporte quedamos con el corazon contento, el manifiesto agradecimiento de nuestros compañeros por sentir la compañía, la confianza, el apoyo y la satisfacción de que paso paso nos vamos consolidando como un gran equipo. We were overwhelmed with joy at our teammates' victory. After the awards ceremony, we went to lunch at a tourist restaurant to celebrate their achievement with them. On the way back to our city on the highway, we were accompanied by a beautiful sunset. Once again, through this sport, our hearts were filled with joy, and we felt our teammates' gratitude for their companionship, trust, support, and satisfaction that, step by step, we are consolidating ourselves as a great team.
