HBAC: Local Election Recap and Randy Mobley Interview

In this week's supersize Hilliard Beacon episode, we opened the show with a discussion of the recent election results impacting local school funding and development. Does the narrow passage of Issue 39 (Hilliard City Schools' combined bond and levy, which secured a critical 53% vote to move forward) indicate a weakening base of support or does it hint at larger economic realities?The voted support ensures budget continuity for Hilliard schools, preventing nearly ten million in projected cuts and provides bonds funding three new school builds. We also briefly reviewed other successful initiatives, including the Franklin County Children's Services levy and the COTA LinkUS transit project, each paving the way for strengthened community services and infrastructure.And on a slightly more relaxing note…The second half of the program features an in-depth interview with Randy Mobley, former president of the International League of Minor League Baseball, whose career in baseball at all levels has spanned over four decades. Randy shared insights on his journey through minor league baseball, detailing the evolution of team infrastructure, the increasing professionalism of the minor leagues, and the unique structure and evolution of the Columbus Clippers under county ownership.
