He Does Not Afflict From His Heart - Andrew Wilson

This week, we look at look the heart of God in the Old Testament and see that the heart of God revealed there is exactly the same as the heart of God revealed in Christ. We are reading from Lamentations where we’re going to see His heart from the saddest chapter in the whole Bible, which comes in the centre of the saddest book in the whole Bible, in response to the saddest event in the whole Bible: exile. And although God does express anger, and he does judge his people, and he does bring painful things to pass sometimes, that’s not the essence of his heart towards us.
