He Filmed a UFO and the Air Force Denied It: A Blue Book Cover-Up | Lionel Friedberg

In 1966 a young documentary cameraman stood in a Saskatchewan parking lot, pointed his 16mm camera at a dust cloud above a potash plant, and filmed a massive metallic disc hovering in absolute silence. He sent the original reel to Project Blue Book at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The Air Force signed for it. And then, when the filmmaker asked what became of it, the Air Force denied it had ever arrived. That filmmaker is Lionel Friedberg, and he has spent 60 years collecting proof that the UFO cover-up is real. In this TruthSeekah Podcast interview Friedberg tells the story of the film that vanished and the signed receipt that proved it reached Wright-Patterson. He describes the discovery process in the National Film Board's screening room, the order to set the mysterious reel aside, and the call to Blue Book that ended in a flat denial despite a signed courier document. It was, he says, the proof he needed that the government's official explanations did not match reality, and that the majority of cases Project Blue Book wrote off as weather balloons were never actually identified. He then goes straight to the heart of the astronaut secrecy machine. Friedberg interviewed Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper, who described scrambling an F-86 squadron to chase a disc over Germany and watching it outrun every jet they had, and who told him on camera that astronauts had all signed documents swearing them to silence. He also spent a famous lunch with Neil Armstrong in the Mojave Desert, and when he raised the Apollo 11 rumors Armstrong shut it down with a line Friedberg has never forgotten: you did not ask me that question. For Friedberg that refusal was an admission in itself.
