Within hours, the family found themselves in the ICU facing a reality no parent ever wants to hear. Doctors told them the injuries were severe and they could not guarantee Joel would survive.What followed was a journey through trauma, uncertainty, faith, and an incredible outpouring of community support. Joel suffered multiple life-threatening injuries including a severe brain injury, a torn aorta, a shattered femur, and extensive damage to his leg. He spent nearly a month in a coma and months recovering in hospital.But this story isn’t just about the accident.
