He is my Righteousness - overcoming legalism and self-righteousness

from Set Apart Podcast

Leslie continues the He Is series with a Biblical look at what it means to find our righteousness in Jesus Christ alone. Leslie unpacks the Biblical pattern for being clothed in the righteousness of Christ instead of relying on our own self-effort and human rules to be right with God. She explains that as healthy as personal convictions can be, they must always be an outflow of our love for Jesus Christ, not what we find our hope and identity in. When personal convictions are placed above Christ, they make us susceptible to self-righteousness and spiritual pride. And when that happens we completely miss the miracle of Jesus as our righteousness. This episode reminds us of the importance of abiding in Christ and placing our hope and identity in Him instead of in our own self-righteousness.For more resources from Leslie, visit https://setapart.org/.
