He Made Lunch for the Hungry Alien Kids Daily Never Knowing Their Mot

from Short SciFi Stories on the go · host Kelli Korner

Two small alien children thin, scaled, with eyes like molten gold stood at the edge of the ruins, staring at the human with empty bowls in their hands. And every day after they came back, Tom lived alone among the shattered husks of what used to be outpost Theta, a mining colony turned graveyard after the Orion Wars. He just opened his old field cooker, smiled and made lunch, warm stew, flat bread, sometimes protein bars shaped into funny animals. You can call me Tom, he'd say, the girl would whisper shyly, I'm Sir I, and the boy would add, Terran, every day, same time, same routine. That night, as the stars shimmered brighter than ever, Tom sat by his small campfire, staring at the strange insignia newly painted on his door a royal seal.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/little-scifi-stories-on-the-go--7033804/support.
