Hello friends, welcome back to the Brilliant Perspectives Podcast. Today we're continuing the identity of Majesty with Graham Cook, the next beautiful step in July's journey into the identity of an overcomer. In this episode, Kerry is one of the most freeing reframes Graham has ever given us. God will not give his glory to another.
But here's the wonder, you're not another. You are the bride of Christ, and there is something about you designs to resonate and radiate in the earth. From that glorious starting point, Graham walks us up the mountain with Joshua, the man who loved the presence of God so much you couldn't get him out of the tent of meeting and shows us what it looks like to live with a mind set on Majesty. The situations in front of you are not there to trip you up.
They are a good and faithful God, lovingly establishing his word and his promises in you. If life has felt like the same test on repeat, this one will turn the whole story into hope. Let's jump in with Graham. Key number two is that Majesty is defined as having a glory as being part of the glory of God in his presence.
The Bible says that God will not give his glory to another, but you're not another. Right? You're not another. You are the bride of Christ.
You're definitely not another. He's definitely committed to bringing you into that space of glory in his presence where there's something about you that resonates in the earth, something about you that radiates. Joshua, one of the reasons why God chose him to be leader after Moses was because one of his favorite things was to...every time that he and Moses will be in the tent of meeting together. When Moses had to go out and do something, Joshua stayed in the tent.
Why? Because he loved the presence of God. He loved the glory of God's presence. He wanted to see that kind of glory.
He wanted to be in the praise where he could feel the presence of God. And you couldn't get him out of that place. Even when Moses went up the mountain for 40 days, Joshua went up there as far as he was allowed. And here's the thing, he stayed there for nearly six weeks.
Joshua was the last person to see Moses go into the cloud. And he was the first one Moses saw when he came out. That's in Exodus 24, 13, when he saw him go in. Then Exodus 32, 17, when Moses came out, Joshua was the first person who spoke to him.
I think he was up there waiting. It's because he wasn't in the camp because he heard sounds in the camp and he thought it was the sound of war. And it wasn't. It was the sound of people illegally partying around the idol after they'd made.
So he wasn't in the camp. He was still halfway up the mountain, waiting for Moses. And in six weeks, he waited for him. Why?
Because he knew why he was going up there. And I think he's like, I want to see what Mo looks like when it comes out of the cloud. He attended Moses from his youth. And he was the one because God says he is a man in whom is the spirit.
This guy had a sense of majesty. And so he was the ideal guy to teach Israel how to overcome and how to move into their inheritance. You know, when you're these days, every leader, I think, has to have a warrior spirit. If you're going to lead people into an inheritance, if you're going to take your congregation together with one heart, one mind, one voice and one spirit into a new place of territory, you're going to have to be a man, a man and a woman there set with your mind on majesty.
We're doing this because we can do it. We're going into it because he belongs to us and we will not. We will not be deflected from that purpose. And so he gets these iconic words of encouragement in Joshua chapter one.
Let me read this to you. Verse one, after the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke to Joshua, the son of none, Moses, servant saying, Moses, my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all these people to the land which I'm giving to them, to the sons of Israel, every place on which the soul of your foot treads, I have given it to you just as I spoke to Moses. What's he doing?
He's telling him, you've got your inheritance, but also some of the inheritance that Moses didn't get, I'm giving to you also. So from the wilderness and here's the territorial spirit in action. From the wilderness in this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the Rivu Freites, all the land of the Hittites, as far as the great sea towards the setting of the sun will be your territory. The land will be able to stand before you all the days of your life.
If that's true in the Old Testament, how much more true is it in the new in the form of Christ? Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you. I will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall give these people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
Only be strong and very courageous. Be careful to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you. Don't turn from it to the right or to the left, so you may have success wherever you go. When God shows you something, when God gives you a revelation, he has to give you a situation so that you can practice that truth.
That should be exciting. When God gives you a revelation, he will give you a situation so that you can practice and establish the truth that he says, now this belongs to you. And it's really important with the people around us. I think it's important that we test our ability together as a group.
Do we really believe this? Do you believe what God believes about you? Your situations will test whether you will or not. That's what they're there for.
Situations is not the enemy trying to trip you up. It's not the enemy trying to rob you. It's God wanting to establish the word and the promises that he's given you. He said, I'll give you this situation so we can establish this truth as a reality so that then you will become the truth.
And I can stop my role of always trying to encourage you to get into truth. And I can actually step into a place and saying, you like that truth? There's more. There's more.
I think one of the if the Holy Spirit ever did get frustrated. One of those frustrations would be he's got so many things to show us, but we can't bear them now. Wasn't that what Jesus said to disciples? And it wasn't that this stuff we want to do, but it's not time.
He just said, you can't bear them now. So there have been tests that he'd given them that they'd failed. They're not practicing what he's given them. So they're always just constantly looking at him, not understanding the level of partnership that he wants to have with them.
And when you don't understand that level of partnership, you slow down. Or we get to thinking that all of this depends on me. All of this depends on Jesus. But what he wants is people who will depend on him to see this thing established.
So the test that God gives us are really important. It's not the enemy. It's not difficult people. It's not life crowding in on you.
It's the Lord saying, I've given you this situation because I want you to establish what I've just said to you. And it's important for all of us to pass our tests. How many of us have taken the same test more than three times? How many of us have had the same test more than six times?
How many of us moved cities to get away from the test? And how many found that the test was waiting for you when you moved into your new house? How many of you changed jobs to avoid a test? And found at the next place, the test was even bigger.
How many of you went to different countries thinking, oh, I'll get rid of this sucker? How many of you let go of relationships? Because you couldn't handle the test of love with those people. And now you've got even more interesting people to love.
Here's the thing about the goodness of God. He will never fail you. He will never fail you. Love never fails.
He will never fail you. He won't give you an old pass mark. You just get to take the test again. And again.
And again. And again. And again. You are not another.
You are the pride of Christ, carrying a glory, design, seresnate and radiate in the earth. And the situation's in front of you are never there to trip you up. They're a God who never fails lovingly, establishing his word and his promises in you. And because love never fails, he won't give you an old pass mark.
You just get to take the test again. May this week be one where you love the presence the way Joshua did, lingering a little longer in the tent of meeting, waiting on the mountain just to see what God will do. And where you meet every situation with a mindset on majesty, knowing that just as he was with Moses, he is with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.
