Healing Ourselves to Support Our Teens: A Mother’s Journey from Helplessness to Hope

from Beyond Motherhood · host Monique Bathis

*TW: Self HarmIn today’s episode, I chat with guest, Nicki Lambert, who discovered her daughter was self-harming 6 years ago and went through her own transformation to not only support her daughter through her own challenges, but heal herself along the way. Nicki now supports and coaches other parents who are struggling with their teens do the same through a compassionate and trauma-informed lens, drawing on a variety of modalities.About Nicki Lambert:Six years ago, Nicki's world turned upside down when she discovered her daughter was self-harming.   It was the wake up call she needed to realise things had to change, SHE had to change if she was going to help her daughter.  So began a journey of inner healing, deep self-reflection and a reroute from a hectic corporate career to train as a breathwork, yoga and fascial-energetic bodywork practitioner. Nicki is passionate about helping others understand how to regulate their nervous systems and allow unprocessed emotion to move through the body in a gentle way, helping the body to come back into a natural state of balance and calm.  When we are able to regulate ourselves, we help to co-regulate those around us - making our environments and relationships much more peaceful and nurturing for all. Connect with Nickyi:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yogimumofficial/Website: https://yogimum.com/Connect with Monique:Instagram: www.instagram.com/moniquebathisFacebook: www.facebook.com/moniquebathisTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@moniquebathisWebsite: www.moniquebathis.com
