Health Chief Eases Fears Over North Leitrim Death Rate

A leading Health expert in the North West has moved to ease the fears of North Leitrim residents over the dangers of respiratory diseases.Dr Anthony Breslin, Director of Public Health, HSE North West has reacted to recent CSO data that states that the Manorhamilton Municipal District had the highest percentage of deaths for such conditions in all local Electoral Areas in the County.Dr Breslin says when analysing the number of Deaths caused by respiratory diseases such as influenza, pneumonia and bronchitis you have to take stock of a number of factors including the total population of the Local Electoral Area and the age Profile of the residents.
