Three prominent Research and development Agencies, the African Academy of Sciences, the South African Medical Research Council, and the Alliance for Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa in partnership with the New Partnership for Africa's Development, have formed an intra – African collaboration in an effort to fund, conduct and facilitate research projects in the area of maternal, neonatal and child health.
