We all know how things should work in the 21st Century. Geesh, the UPS driver carries around more technology than my cardiologist does. Jury duty and the Department of Motor Vehicles have better scheduling systems. My PC's on-line maintenance record is more up-to-date than my medical file. And I refuse to believe that a three hour emergency room visit can really be worth $15,000.

We talk about various theories that we’ve learned over the course and how they impact us as multiracial individuals, especially because labeling can mean that our identities are more complex than they appear at first glance and we’re dissecting different ideas–hence ‘inside out’. Our readings reference this theme because they show how discrepancies in views of different people and bias play a role in how they are perceived. We are attempting to analyze these perceptions from an intersectional lens and break them down to analyze why it occurred.
