Don't be afraid to work up front. There is nothing wrong about a delayed ROI (return on investment). Work for free if it makes sense. Internships, volunteering, and collaborating on projects that you actually would enjoy doing, are amazing opportunities. Don't let society deter you from seeking joy. Sometimes if you work hard and get a bit of good luck....you can make a career change happen from working for free up front with zero expectation in return.
