Heavenly Minded Yet Still Earthly Good Title Check: OK Quality Check: OK Thinking about heaven should not make believers careless about life on earth. From Colossians 3, Pastor Chris Teien shows how the hope of eternity shapes daily choices, helps Christians resist sin, and renews their identity in Christ. Learn how a life focused on heaven can become more faithful, useful, and fruitful right now. In This Message 1. Look Ahead to Eternity in Heaven (Colossians 3:1–4; Revelation 21:1–4; John 14:2–3) Paul calls believers to set their sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ is seated in honor. The sermon emphasizes that a Christian’s true life is hidden with Christ, and that hope in eternity should shape priorities, choices, and service in this present life. 2. Look Away from Entrapments on Earth (Colossians 3:5–9; Job 31:1; 1 Timothy 5:2; Proverbs 6:32) Because believers have died to their old life, they are called to put sinful earthly desires to death. This point warns against sexual immorality, impurity, lust, greed, anger, slander, dirty language, and lying as traps that damage faith, relationships, and witness. 3. Look Awesome, Knowing and Growing in Christ (Colossians 3:10–11) Believers are called to put on their new nature and be renewed as they learn to know their Creator. The sermon highlights that Christ is what matters most, and He can transform and use people from every background, status, and stage of life. 18m0526de Helping you apply God's Word and follow Jesus in everyday life.
