Heavy rain threat coming to the Northeast
from Weather Insider
Forecasters have been keeping a close eye on a low-pressure system all week as it's slowly moved over the southeastern U.S. and spawned an area of showers and thunderstorms off the coast of the Carolinas. AccuWeather meteorologists are giving the developing system an 80% chance of developing into a tropical depression and possibly Tropical Storm Fay, which would be the sixth named storm of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season. The system is forecast to drift on a general north to northeast track through this weekend. This path will take the feature right along the mid-Atlantic coast and inland over New England and Atlantic Canada.AccuWeather's Bernie Rayno (@AccuRayno on Twitter) has all the details on today's "Weather Insider" podcast!
