Summary

As we remember Jesus during times of taking communion, we remember eating the bread and drinking the wine as representation of Jesus body and blood shed for us. At the same time Jesus likewise became flesh and blood, like us, in order that he could share in our humanity. In this way Jesus could share in all of our sufferings, our temptations, our struggles, and even our death. For this reason Jesus alone is able to fully understand our human condition, and help us with any need, even to the point of death, so that we can share in his eternal life.
