Hedra Tower Slide Too Fast?

A 30-foot-tall metal slide at Derby, Kansas’ new Hedra Tower playground is already causing concern—kids say it’s way too fast and even hurting them. City officials admit it meets safety standards but are now investigating how it’s being used, including rumors of kids adding soap to speed it up. Parents are alarmed, fearing fun should never come at the cost of safety. The city is working with manufacturers to find a fix—slowing it down without killing the thrill.
