Helicopter Crash Claims Three Lives | Charleston News

A news helicopter crashed in Los Angeles Tuesday evening, killing aerial reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw, and a third person on the ground. The chopper was covering another accident when it went down in Chatsworth, sparking a fire that burned nearby vehicles. Moreno, known for her Instagram presence as “Eli in the heli,” and Marciniw, with over 30 years of flying experience, were colleagues at Angel City Air since 2023. Firefighters responded swiftly, and news outlets expressed deep sorrow. NTSB and FAA investigators are now on the scene, though no cause has been determined. This tragic event underscores the dangers of aerial journalism and honors those who risk everything to bring us the story.
