But today, the Chinese are discovering things Americans like doing too – like camping, skiing, RV rental, and golf.China’s so big, there’s plenty of room to pitch your tent, go paintballing, snowboarding and white water rafting. On the weekend, young Chinese people love to catch a movie and drink a latte or cappuccino in a chain of coffee shops called Xing Ba Ke... but, one leisure activity is very different in China… karaoke - it’s everywhere you go. People of all ages sing in high end purpose-built karaoke studios with five-star furnishings and first class food. Maybe this is why TV singing shows like The Voice of China and Supergirl are as popular with the Chinese as their US equivalents are over here. Oh… and Xing Ba Ke – that’s Chinese for Starbucks!
