In this episode, I want to talk about health, specifically the immune system, and the time of the year that we live in. Winter is coming, winter is here in many places, and the temperature drops, and people get chilled, and the immune system is weakened, and we end up getting colds and flus and all kinds of problems. The result from that, we miss work and pass it on to other people. People end up dying from pneumonia and some of these flus, and of course we have this COVID-19 virus to add to that.
But one of the things that I wanted to share with you is that as soon as you sense yourself coming down with some symptoms, like for example your nose is running or your throat gets sore, or you're really tired and you just feel all of those together, one of the best things that you can do at that time is to do a contrast shower. And what that is, simply, is when you take a shower, you take your shower for as hot as you can stand it for three minutes. And after the three minutes are done, turn the water to complete cold and keep it there for 45 seconds. And while you're in that shower, you need to get your head wet, turn around, get your whole body so that you're shivering.
The first 10 seconds of that are going to be pretty shocking. But this is good. This is what your system needs. That would be called one cycle.
So what you want to do is do that cycle three times, even four times, depending on how bad your virus or cold is. So even before and during the time that you have a cold or a flu, this is going to help you. What it does is it causes your body to increase its ability to fight. Your immune system is going to be invigured, and you're going to have an immune system that's going to be ready to go and start fighting against the viruses or any germs that may get into your system.
And pretty much you're going to overcome and you're going to avoid getting a flu or a cold. And this would work also with COVID-19. Now one of the things that you have to remember is that your body needs to be kept in its best fighting condition. And in order to do that, you have to take care of what you eat.
You have to take care of your whole lifestyle. Some of the things that are very detrimental to your immune system are sugar. And I don't just mean white sugar. I'm talking about honey maple syrup, molasses, organic sugar, stevia.
Well, maybe not pure stevia. That's not going to be a problem. But agave, nectar, all those types of things. Sweet buns and pies and cakes and all that stuff.
That weakens the immune system. So if you're feeling like you're coming on with a cold, your throat sore, you've got a headache, and then you start eating sweet stuff, you can be pretty sure that the next day you're going to end up with a cold. So don't do that. Cut back or cut out as much of the sweet things out of your diet as possible.
And then when you do have that virus or sore throat, you do go ahead and take that contrast shower. That cycle, you repeat that three or four times. And the best time to do it is at nighttime and then you can go right to bed. But you can do it in the morning as well.
So I would recommend doing those things. Get plenty of rest. Your body needs to be strengthened in order to fight off anything. And if it's weak, it can't fight.
Another thing you want to do is make sure that you get plenty of water. And that will help your system to be able to bring to your body, throughout your body the things that it needs. We don't want sluggish, thick blood. We want blood that's going to be just right.
And you want to avoid taking things like aspirin, aspirin, any sort of medication. Now if you're on some medication due to some physical health problem, speak to your physician and see if you can cut back on those. And actually work in your life to get off all medication because there's a time coming where people are not going to be able to buy or sell. And if you're dependent upon medication, you're going to be in serious trouble.
So keep up the good work. Keep your health up. Come back to this channel. Podcast as often as you can.
And we'll have some good information for you. Take care.
