Help! My Agent Isn't That Good!

from Wisconsin Real Estate Today · host John G. Gscheidmeier

Let's face it, sometimes the honeymoon ends quicker than anticipated. You hired what you thought was is a great agent who now isn't so great - what do you do? You might be staring at substandard photos, marginal marketing, and an agent that doesn't quite have the experience they claimed to have had when you hired them. What can you do, especially if you are selling your home? Are you tied into the remainder of your listing contract? Can you "get out of" the contract if the agent isn't good? How do you get back "on track" with your agent and to ensure that expectations are known to each other. When things go bad, it usually is because communication broke down somewhere. Here are some of the main complaints John addresses in this episode: 1) What equipment did the real estate use to photograph your home? 2) What is your agent doing specifically to market the home, and not just at open houses? 3) Why did the communication break down? 4) How can we fix things with our agent - we like him or her but they aren't meeting our expectations? 5) Can I get out of my current contract if I want to make a change? Maybe there wasn't enough "due diligence" when you first met the agent, but it isn't too late to right the wrongs and move forward with or without your current agent.
