Helpdeskfraude Veldhoven: verdachte plundert €4000 in Almere, politie vraagt om tips

Op 15 mei 2025 werd een inwoner van Veldhoven slachtoffer van bankhelpdeskfraude en phishing. Het slachtoffer werd gebeld door iemand die zich voordeed als medewerker van een creditcardbedrijf en beweerde dat er verdachte aanvragen met zijn gegevens waren gedaan. Hij ontving meerdere berichten en opdrachten, waaronder een nep-wifi-check, en dacht te spreken met de technische dienst van zijn bank. Kort daarna haalde de oplichter €4000 van zijn rekening bij een geldautomaat in Almere. De verdachte, een man met een stevig postuur, droeg een beige-groen Under Armour trainingspak, een bijpassende pet en donkere slippers. De politie vraagt om hulp bij het identificeren van de dader. Bankhelpdeskfraude, waarbij criminelen zich voordoen als bankmedewerkers om toegang te krijgen tot financiële gegevens, neemt toe.
