Plongée au cœur des racines de la rumba pour explorer l’histoire d’une région musicale qui s’étend de part et d’autre du fleuve Congo. Pour la 11ème, nous recevions Josselin qui n’est tout autre que le cousin de Claire, mais aussi et surtout un mélomane avisé qui a construit avec nous cette émission dédiée aux musiques congolaises. Docteur Nico et Franco, deux légendes de la musique congolaise; dispo chez les Disques du Yeti  La rumba congolaise est une musique qui réussi magnifiquement à combiner deux émotions opposées que sont la liesse et la mélancolie, à la manière de la saudade cap-verdienne. En revanche ses rythmes sont plus acérés et elle est très liée à une grande dextérité dans les instruments, notamment dans la guitare qu’incarne de manière somptueuse l’immortel Docteur Nico. Nous voilà donc en Afrique Centrale où se font face deux capitales bouillonnantes : Kinshasa et Brazzaville qui ont vu éclore ce genre bien particulier aux inspirations cubaines. Deux pays : la RDC et le Congo-Brazza qui ont plus tard vu le développement de nouveaux genres qui puisent leurs influences dans le blues, la soul, le hip-hop ou l'electro et qui sont portés par des labels comme Crammed Discs ou World Circuit Records.
