Henderson Approves Second Charter School | Las Vegas News

Henderson just approved its second city-run charter school, Nexus Charter School, set to open next fall with a mastery-based learning model that lets students advance when they’re ready—not by grade level or seat time. This follows a new state law allowing cities to authorize charters, with Kesher Academy already up and running. Parents are excited about more options, smaller classes, and personalized attention, though some still favor the traditional district for college prep and sports. More charter applications are on the way—this could be just the beginning of a bigger educational shift in Henderson.
