Henderson Out of Brentford, In for Chelsea | Chelsea F.C. News

Jordan Henderson is out of Brentford and free to join Chelsea — no fee involved — as the 36-year-old midfielder wraps up his two-year stint with the Bees. The move aligns with Chelsea’s new manager Xabi Alonso’s push for experienced leadership, despite the club’s recent focus on younger signings. Brentford, led by Phil Giles, supported Henderson’s ambition to chase a World Cup squad spot and welcomed his leadership during a turbulent season. Now, with his career winding down, Henderson thanks Brentford for giving him a Premier League second act. Meanwhile, Chelsea are also nearing a deal for 35-year-old Danny Welbeck from Brighton, signaling a bold new direction for the Blues.
