Herbert Marcuse, The Father of the New Left
from Over and Under · host Edward Henderson
Believe it or not classical liberalism would have been people like Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin; but the left around the beginning of the 20 th century started taking on a whole new meaning. Masquerading as a journey to find the authentic self and to promote individuality, it was being orchestrated to bring conformity; to give solace to those who chose or could not live in a society that does requires some accountability and responsibility; comfort to the coward that longed to be a hero in their new re-imagined narrative. As always they are my opinions and convictions and you are welcome to do with them as you choose.
