Here, There and Everywhere
from The DMZ · host Mike DeMaio
The inspiration for today's episode is the recently re-released "White Album" by the Beatles, which for the first time has been remixed and presented with additional demos and session recordings. Rather than delve into the 107 tracks included on the reissue, I have decided instead to bring you some of my favorite cover versions of Beatles songs as an homage to the most influential rock band in history. Enjoy! 1. Taxman - Junior Parker 2. Why Don't We Do It In The Road - Lowell Fulson 3. Drive My Car - The Donnas 4. She Said, She Said - The Black Keys 5. Get Back - Ike & Tina Turner 6. While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Regina Spektor 7. We Can Work It Out - Stevie Wonder 8. Glass Onion - Arif Mardin 9. I Want You (She's So Heavy) - Umphrey's McGee 10. Something - James Brown 11. A Hard Day's Night - Quincy Jones 12. I've Got A Feeling - Billy Preston 13. Dear Prudence - Gabor Szabo 14. Happiness Is A Warm Gun - The Breeders 15. Come Together - The Supremes The DMZ can be heard live Tuesday's @ 5:00pm EST only on radiofreebrooklyn.com
