Heretic (2024)

Welcome back to the show Horror Fiends! We're back, and hungrier than ever! If you're new here the Horror Junkies is a podcast dedicated to Horror, Riffs, and most importantly SNACKS! In this chilling episode of Horror Junkies, we dive into A24's latest psychological horror, Heretic. Directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, this claustrophobic tale pits two young missionaries against the sinister and charismatic Mr. Reed, played masterfully by Hugh Grant. Join us as we unpack the film's twisted theological debates, tense cat-and-mouse games, and the standout performances that elevate this dialogue-heavy horror. We’ll explore the film’s unique approach to dread over traditional scares, its eerie production design, and whether it delivers on its deeper philosophical questions. Is Heretic destined to be another A24 classic, or does it fall short of its ambitious premise? Tune in for our thoughts and plenty of chills. Have you seen Heretic?
