Herm Edwards says he recruited Brock Purdy for Arizona State Sun Devils football? Not so fast...

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, a local valley high school product, is headed to Super Bowl LVIII and former Arizona State Sun Devils football head coach Herm Edwards couldn't help but to stick his nose into something that has nothing to do with him. Purdy, who was selected with the last pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, played his high school ball at Perry in Gilbert, Arizona, and was a consensus three-star quarterback recruit. In what was Edwards' first season as the Sun Devils head coach, that 69-year-old TV personality claimed he recruited Purdy to Arizona State University but ultimately lost out to Iowa State. It has since come out that Edwards only offered Purdy to be a preferred walk-on for the program and that the interest in Purdy was not at all what Edwards painted it to be.
