HERStory ~ Special Guest: Dr. LaKishia Lewis Grider, Woman On The Frontline ~ COVID-19

Dr. LaKishia Lewis Grider is a native of Minden, Louisiana.  She is a wife and mother of 3 sons aged 25, 14, and 6.  In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, singing, watching, and playing sports with her boys.  She has worked at OBVAMC since March 2009 as a Board-Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner caring for hundreds of Veterans with COVID-19 as well as other co-morbidities.  She has worked in health care since 2000 and is considered an expert in her field.  Working with numerous chronic and acute disease states as well as the COVID-19 virus she has become an advocate for preventative care and management of post covid states as well as other co-morbidities in the presence of COVID-19.  From working as a COVID manager in the height of the pandemic she has encountered numerous patients and unfortunately witnessed several deaths.  Her goal is the EDUCATE the community and "learn to live with COVID"; because it is projected to remain a communicable disease in our nation.   Disclaimer:  These are our views and not advice to anyone.
