De Flandria wielerploeg was een begrip in de internationele wielerwereld in de jaren ‘60 en ‘70. In die iconische rode koerstruitjes. Iedereen reed voor Flandria (Freddy Maertens, Michel Pollentier, Joop Zoetemelk etc….) behalve Merckx. Maar er schuilt ook veel tragiek in het verhaal achter het familiebedrijf Flandria. Dat was na WOII de belangrijkste (brom)fietsenfabrikant van België.
