Heteronormativity in the Wedding Industry

  If you've been engaged for more than even five minutes, you've probably already noticed that the wedding industry is extremely heteronormative. The language that so many wedding pros use, and the hetero assumptions that they make, make it uncomfortable at best for LGBTQ+ couples who are going through the planning process. And look, I get we still have a long, long way to go. And sure, it can be expected in more rural parts of the country, but this is even a problem in more progressive cities like New York and Los Angeles.
