Tonight's episode is about Hex (2017), directed by George Popov.  Having recently covered The Droving, and with our interview with George Popov coming up soon, it only makes sense for us to also review his first feature film.  Much like The Droving, Hex takes a supernatural story and places it within the context of a very natural world.  Set during the English Civil War, two opposing soldiers are stuck in a forest as they struggle to reconcile their conflict with each other, with themselves, and with with a witch (whose presence is what has trapped them, but also what is intensifying their struggle).  Again, much like The Droving, the focus of Hex is less on the supernatural element and more about how faith, conviction, and guilt has a profound impact on their current situation.  Hex is not a fast-paced, action/horror heavy movie - it is a film that is driven by themes that are handled in such a way that they are incredibly relatable and endlessly discussable.  So grab your plant-based religious iconography, have a crisis of faith, and watch your back as you meet us at the old church ruins for our review of Hex!!
