Hey Luke Fickell, Let Your Coaches Speak
Mike Lucas and Tom Oates dive deep into the Wisconsin football program after the Badgers' bruising defeat to the Iowa Hawkeyes. Oates thinks Wisconsin’s new offensive strategy is in limbo. “Iowa’s defense can seize on something like that and really make you look bad,” says Oates. “Which happened.” The 15-6 loss to Iowa also sidelined Wisconsin quarterback Tanner Mordecai, who broke his throwing hand during the game. That puts redshirt freshmen Braedyn Locke behind the Badgers’ shaky offensive line. “[Locke] is more fundamentally adept at handling the air raid offense because he knows the system” says Lucas, noting offensive coordinator Phil Longo’s promise to bring the offensive scheme to Wisconsin this season. “But to be honest with you, I’m not sure what the heck…Phil Longo is running.” And why isn’t Badgers’ head coach Luke Fickell letting his assistant coaches speak to the media? “Enlighten us!” says Lucas. “It would be a service to the entire program.” Finally, will the New York Jets impressive defense give Aaron Rodgers a second chance this season?
