Hezekiah's Illness

Phillip Gummerson 2/08/09 Isaiah 38:1-6 Phil talks through Hezekiah's news. He is told to get his house in order. He is dying and prays to God to let him live. He uses this to apply it to today and how Jesus is our 'Answer'. The Need: He was involved in an ongoing war with Assyria. He had just completed major Spiritual reforms. He had reinstated the Passover festival. He was building the famous Siloam water tunnel. He had no heir to take over the throne. He was going to die. The Prayer: - was private. - was simple. - relied on God's promises. - balanced acceptance with asking. - was accompained with tears. The Answer: - showed God was close by. - was immediate. - was specific. - changed Hezekiah's life.
