HHMI ~ Exile & Redemption From Exodus ~ Pt 4 ~ Healing of the Wound = End of the Exile

from Hebraic Heritage Radio Podcasts · host Eddie Chumney

For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous. Why criest thou for thine affliction? Thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.Jeremiah 30:12,15 What is the wound, the bruise, the sorrow? It is being in exile! For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof. Jeremiah 30:17-18 What is the healing of the wound? It is the end of the exile! Even as Yahweh heard the cries of the children of Israel in Egypt as they cried out to him in their affliction and bondage (Ex. 2:23-24) so will the God of Israel AGAIN hear the cries of the future exiles of Israel who are scattered to all the nations. He will remember His covenant with Abraham and He will gather His people! Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. Jeremiah 30: 7,10 Yahweh promises that He is going to heal the wound, that is, end the exile: For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.
