HHMI ~ Exile & Redemption From Genesis ~ Pt 5 ~ Jacob & Esau Foreshadows Zion and Babylon

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executes my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. Isaiah 46:9-11 Do you want to understand the events of the end of days? Then you have to go back to “the beginning”, to the book of Genesis! A very important Torah concept is this: Biblical history is prophecy. The historical events described in Genesis are a prophetic blueprint and template for future events. In this session, we will be looking at patterns of exile and redemption from Genesis 25 through 50. The conflict between Jacob and Esau foreshadows the events of the tribulation or Jacob's trouble. In the end of days, there will be a conflict between the descendants of Jacob and the descendants of Esau. Jacob’s all night wrestling match with the angel foreshadows the time known as “Jacob’s trouble” or the great tribulation. His wrestling also foreshadows the end of the exile as he wrestles until the "break of dawn. " In this session, we also look at the names of the 12 tribes of Israel. Each name foreshadows and prophesies to the exile and the redemption of Israel.
