HHMI ~ Exile & Redemption From Genesis ~ Pt 6 ~ Rescued Out of Jacob's Trouble
from Hebraic Heritage Radio Podcasts · host Eddie Chumney
And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, We came to thy brother Esau, and also he cometh to meet thee, and four hundred men with him. Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed: and he divided the people that was with him, and the flocks, and herds, and the camels, into two bands. Genesis 32:6-7 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? Wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. Jeremiah 30:6-7 Jacob’s distress in meeting up with Esau and his 400 men foreshadows Jacob’s trouble. As a result of Jacob’s trouble, the House of Jacob, God’s people, will be rescued, redeemed, and saved. It will be the END of the exile. In this session, we will also look at Joseph’s dreams and see how this is a prophetic foreshadowing of exile and redemption.
