HHMI ~ Exile & Redemption from the Prophets ~ Pt 2 ~ The Way Home ~ Repentance and Return to Torah

Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them. And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land. Jeremiah 12:14-15 We saw in the last session the pattern of exile and redemption: Sin causes punishment and exile to upon the children of Israel ~ Both Northern and Southern kingdom go into exile ~ They are afflicted and oppressed by their captors ~ they cry out to Yahweh and repent and return to Yahweh and to his Torah ~ the Messiah comes to gather them and return them to the land. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy Mount at Jerusalem. Isaiah 27: 12-13 In this session we learn more about what the prophets reveal to us about the final ingathering, also known as “The Greater Exodus to Come.” As the exiles of Israel repent, Yahweh will hear and He promises to remember His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Throughout the prophets, we see Yahweh promises to gather his repentant bride at the end of days and lead them on a journey home! The union of Judah and Ephraim is something that is prophesied by almost ALL the prophets, including Amos, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Hosea, Micah, and Zechariah all speak of this future reunification of Northern and Southern kingdom.
