Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. Leviticus 23: 10-11 The Feast of Firstfruits is the day after the Sabbath during the Feast of Unleavened bread. In other words, DURING the Feast of Unleavened bread, when you get to the Sabbath day, the NEXT day is the Feast of Firstfruits. When the children of Israel first came into the promised land, they were told to give a Firstfruit offering for inheriting the land of Israel. It is commanded in Torah that an offering of thanks be given when offering Firstfruits, for dwelling in and inheriting the land of Israel. A declaration of thanks is made by the person when offering the Firstfruits offering: And you shall speak and say before Yahweh your Elohim, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous: and the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage. And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labor, and our oppression: and the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders. And he has brought us into this place, and have given us this land, even a land that flows with milk and honey. And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which uou, O LORD, have given me. And you shall set it before the LORD thy God, and worship before the LORD thy God. Deuteronomy 26:5-10 Yahweh is the one who brought me into the land, and that is why I am to bring a firstfruits offering to Him and rejoice while doing so.
