HHMI ~ Feast of Shavuot ~ A Change of Heart ~ Pt 2 ~ The Torah Test for the Adulterous Wife

We continue to look at what the Torah teaches about what happens to a woman who is suspected of adultery (from Numbers 5:11-31). As you read the passage, remember that at the deeper sod level, this passage is also talking about the God of Israel as husband, and his adulterous wife, the house of Jacob. In Numbers 5, we see these major figures: *The wife suspected of adultery is a picture of the House of Jacob who entered into a marriage covenant with Yeshua at Mt Sinai. *The priest is a picture of Moses. *The husband is a shadow picture of the bridegroom, Yeshua. He loves her with an all consuming fire. When He finds that she has already committed adultery against him with the golden calf, a spirit of jealousy comes upon him, and he puts his people through the “Torah test” for the adulterous woman (Numbers 5:11-31) and hence, Moses has the people drink the water with the ground up gold dust from the golden calf. This parallels what is described in Numbers 5, where the woman suspected of committing adultery against her husband must drink bitter waters.
