HHMI ~ Feast of Shavuot ~ Marriage at Mt Sinai ~ Pt 2 ~ It All Started in the Garden

There are two stages to a biblical marriage. The first stage is betrothal. You are legally married but you do not “dwell with”. This is what happened at Mt Sinai. There was a betrothal made at Mt Sinai but Messiah was not yet physically dwelling with…yet. He will physically dwell with his people during the Messianic era when He rules and reigns from Jerusalem. Adam and Eve are a foreshadow of the marriage between Yeshua and His bride, Israel. Adam can be seen as a foreshadow of Yeshua who deeply loves His bride and lays down His life for her: And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. nd Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Genesis 2: 21-23 Adam and Eve were driven out of the garden of Eden because they disobeyed, they sinned. The consequences of sin are this: it results in spiritual “nakedness”. It results in the hiding of the face of God. It results in a “spiritual divorce” or exile to the nations. How is the God of Israel going to bring restoration? Through a circumcised heart and a renewed covenant relationship with the Messiah.
