HHMI - Galatians ~ Pt 3 ~ Finding rest for your soul is following Yeshua’s Torah

Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. Matthew 23:1-2 What does it mean that they sit in the seat of Moses? It means they are making judgments and interpretations of the Torah. Rabbinic Judaism teaches that they sit in the seat of Moses. The Pharisees placed heavy burdens upon the people. Did Yeshua teach that His followers should follow the Pharisees or rabbinical Judaism? All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. Matthew 23:3 In contrast to the Pharisees and their interpretation of the Torah, Yeshua said these words: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 In saying this, Yeshua was referring to this passage from Jeremiah 6:16: Thus says the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. What was Yeshua saying? That in following HIS Torah we will find rest for our souls!
