HHMI - Galatians ~ Pt 6 ~ Being a Jew inwardly~ Circumcision of the heart
from Hebraic Heritage Radio Podcasts · host Eddie Chumney
Abraham is our example that in order for us to enter into covenant relationship with the God of Israel that we must be circumcised in our heart. What does it mean to have a circumcised heart? We repent of our sins, we ask Yeshua to come into our life, we make Him savior and Lord of our life, and we receive His shed blood for our sins. Then we begin to follow the Torah of Yeshua. This is showing a circumcised heart. We can see that Abraham is our example of having a circumcised heart: And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15: 6 Paul explains in Romans 2 that a person with a circumcised heart will follow the Torah: For not the hearers of the Torah are just before God, but the DOERS of the Torah shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have NOT the Torah, DO by nature the things contained in the Torah, these, having not the Torah, are a law unto themselves: Which show the work of the Torah written in their HEARTS, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another. Romans 2:13-15 Paul goes on to say that the “weightier matter” of Torah is not the outward sign of circumcision in the flesh but the circumcision of the heart: For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh. But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
